WACKEN METAL BATTLE - TORONTO
WACKEN METAL BATTLE - TORONTO
Wacken Metal Battle Canada is a cross-Canada competition for metal bands. One band will rise above all others to represent their nation with highest honor and perform at the 2014 Wacken Festival in Germany.
SANTUARIUM
SANTUARIUM
After about two years of perfecting their sound, Santuarium's first studio album is finally complete. Combining interesting instrumentation, that includes the violin, the piano, the flute and the viola on top of the traditional metal sound, the music is also accompanied by intelligent and socially critical lyrics.
MY HOLLOW
MY HOLLOW
Toronto, Ontario based progressive-groove-metal band. The band has been together since 2008 and came together via internet postings and auditions. They began jamming, rehearsing and writing immediately as they all have previous band experiences. Shortly there after they started playing gigs including the last show ever at the Kathedral in Toronto in which they were the second last band to play! From there they recorded a "live off the floor" album in 2009 which contained 4 songs, Precious Time, Behind Closed Doors, You Don't Know & No Choice. Since then MY HOLLOW has played with bands such as The Agonist, Cryptopsy, Beneath The Massacre, Condemned,Threat Signal, The Last Felony, The Catalyst, Tiger Star, Destruction , Warbringer, Vital Remains, Kill Devil Hill and many more. In 2012 MY HOLLOW released their first Official E.P. named after the title track "COLD DARK DAYS". The E.P. featured 4 songs, Cold Dark Days, As Seams Seep Red, Kings With No Castles & Blood Seeds. In early 2013 MY HOLLOW shot their first official music video for "COLD DARK DAYS". It was finished from live footage of a "Life Celebration"; they played in honor of a good friend & fan. Shortly after, they shot and released their second official music video which was for the track "KINGS WITH NO CASTLES". MY HOLLOW will continue playing gigs and working toward a future full of metal!
PSYCHO MAD SALLY
PSYCHO MAD SALLY
Formed in 2010 and described by Jason Daniel Baker as Siouxsie Sioux meets Motorhead, Canadian-based band Psycho Mad Sally fuses the rock guitar of Romanian-born axeman Andrei Sin with the vocals of Russian spoken word performer and energy spitfire Sasha Nevskaya. Backed by former Rusty drummer John Lalley and bassist Max Morin, P.M.S. is a truly unique band, incorporating elements of gypsy music, hardcore punk and of course, pure heavy metal
THE PARALLAX
THE PARALLAX
he Parallax is a progressive melodic death metal band from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Their lengthy progressive and dynamic music allows for their live show to stand out. Since inception, the band has been able to share the stage with great acts such as The Agonist, Intervals, Ever Forthright, and most notably Protest the Hero, who themselves chose The Parallax to open for them.
On October 22nd, 2013 the band released their debut full length album, "Obliquity of the Ecliptic". It was released independently and features over 60 minutes of original music, including the 23-minute track, "The Reformatting". It is available for free on their Bandcamp, and available for physical purchase online and in select Canadian stores.
Shotgun Cure
Shotgun Cure is a 3-piece metal band formed in Toronto in 2007. Composed of Harut Savchenko on guitar and vocals, James Tulloch on bass and Kyle Lecourt on drums, the group has worked tirelessly since its inception to promote and tour within Canada, releasing two EPs and a pending full length record. Aggressive and sharp in sound while also providing a compelling dose of melody and rhythm, the band is always well received for their tenacious and highly energetic live performance. They continue to tour persistently in anticipation of the release of their debut LP, constantly striving to enlighten and remind the masses once again of a passion for live, raw progressive heavy music.
